SEAGLOW Partners Gather in Hamburg for 3rd Consortium Meeting
On 13 and 14 October 2026, SEAGLOW project partners convened at the Fraunhofer CML in Hamburg-Harburg for their 3rd Consortium Meeting. Designed to strengthen cross-partner collaboration and align upcoming project milestones, the two-day event combined technical workshops, strategic planning, and hands-on field experiences around Hamburg’s green maritime infrastructure.
Day 1: Shared Knowledge & Green Maritime Innovation
The opening day focused on reviewing key project achievements across work packages. Partners examined the WP1 Policy Framework Report alongside WP3 retrofit and simulation results tailored for Estonia, Norway, Sweden and Denmark. The sessions also covered WP5 preliminary business models and offered insights into the consumer side of the fishing industry presented by THAI Union.
In the afternoon, Roman Weber of the Hamburg Port Authority introduced the port’s clean energy master plan, setting the stage for a guided boat tour along the Elbe. Participants also explored Hamburg’s ongoing transformation into a hydrogen and green energy cluster.
Day 2: Mapping Synergies & Next Steps
The second day pivoted toward practical alignment for the remaining 18 months of the SEAGLOW project. Partner organizations presented concise status updates covering key deliverables, handoffs, and critical dependencies. These inputs fed directly into an interactive project mapping workshop designed to build a shared understanding of the timeline impacts of experienced delays, streamline knowledge sharing and prevent communication bottlenecks across work packages.
Following a tour of Fraunhofer CML’s state-of-the-art laboratory facilities, participants joined into the online Fishers Forum, where they heard and learned from the first hand experience of the three fishers involved in the project, and aligned upcoming project activities with their fishing seasons. By clarifying technical handoffs and mapping interdependencies in person, the consortium leaves Hamburg unified and fully prepared for the next phase of the project.
