European Commission launches Call for Evidence on Ocean and Water Research & Innovation Strategy

The European Commission has launched a Call for Evidence to support the development of a new Ocean and Water Research & Innovation Strategy.

Building on existing EU research and innovation initiatives, including the Mission Restore our Ocean and Waters by 2030, the strategy aims to strengthen coordination across ocean and water research, reduce fragmentation between initiatives, and promote a source-to-sea approach to tackling environmental challenges such as pollution and resource management.

The strategy will also look at how to support the financing, development and deployment of new knowledge and innovative solutions for healthier oceans and waters.

Stakeholders, researchers, policymakers, industry representatives, fishers and citizens are invited to share their views and help shape future EU priorities.
